Kalzip GDL library – Bringing ideas to life
The GDL technology is now being used by many architects and planners and is allowing realistic simulations to be created of entire construction product lines in virtual design visualizations and high-quality presentations.
With the new Kalzip GDL Library we are offering a service which will enable you to transform your ideas for aluminium building envelopes into 3D reality.
Our GDL Library is constantly growing and will enable you to use a new and more efficient method of marketing designs and specifications.
Access to a large selection of roof and facade components during the design phase is of great advantage to architects and planners e.g. in the case of renovation projects where structures which exist in real life can be used in the design.
The shape of the Kalzip GDL object can be individually adjusted (length, radius, conicality) and colour (surface finishes) and adapted to suit the construction project. |

Kalzip GDL objects can be used in Windows and Macintosh operating systems and exported into the usual CAD file formats, including DXF and DWG. To support this process a GDL WEB Control plug-in from Graphisoft is available for downloading.
If you are using our GDL service for the first time, you should first of all install Web Control which will enable you to view the structures in the Internet browser and save them in the usual formats (dxf, dwg 3DS, IFC, DGN, etc.).
Download GDL structure for ArchiCAD, AutoCAD
In order to be able to use GDL objects in ArchiCAD, please save these on your computer. Once you have downloaded a zipped library, please unzip. If necessary, refer to the user guide relating to your zip programme. Place these files in your CAD library using the ABC principle. AutoCAD adapters can be found here:

Download 3DS, DGN and IFC
In order to be able to view and configurate our Kalzip 3D buildings, you will require the free GDL Web Control plug-in from Graphisoft. This will enable you to export objects in the following file formats: GDM, OBJ, DXF, DWG, 3DS, FACT, VRML, LP, U3D. Please note: to achieve the best possible level of depiction and operation, please install the GDL Web Control before opening the elements listed. The GDL Web Control can be downloaded here:
